The term “CVN” is the designation given by the US Navy to nuclear-powered aircraft carriers. Although modern carriers displace almost one hundred thousand tons of water, their narrow and elegant bows, which seem so incapable of balancing them, keep stable in rough waters. Legos, meanwhile, are a limitless design tool for children everywhere. With the CVN-JG, these two inspirations work together to balance each other, creating a stable yet seemingly gravity-defying dining table. The exterior shell is secured to a metal frame weighed down by sixteen interlocking concrete blocks.
